2024/25
Autumn Term
These four Year 2 children represented St Peter’s brilliantly at the Y2/3 fundamental movement skills festival at the Valley Leadership Academy. They showed determination and stamina as they worked their way around 8 activities. They each took away a Schools Games badge for showing self belief. 💪😃
3rd place for our incredible Year 3/4 athletics team. They performed amazingly showing passion, determination, team work and talent. Well done team St Peter’s! 🥉🤩🥉
It was an absolute pleasure to take this team of 8 children to the Y6/7 Transition Athletics Festival last week. They absolutely loved every minute and performed brilliantly. They cheered, sang and danced throughout and it ended with them winning the school games value award. 🥇 🙌🏼
These 7 fabulous young ladies played their hearts out at a football competition against Crawshawbooth Primary School last week. They showed bravery, determination and stamina and we are so proud of each and every one of them. Big shout out to our incredible goal keeper Abigail who did her team proud! ⚽️
4th place in Rossendale for our unbelievable y5/6 athletics team. They’re off to the Small Schools Lancashire finals in the Spring term and we couldn’t be happier for them. They all deserve it! ⭐️
Our Y5/6 athletics team won the small schools athletics competition last night and have qualified for the Rossendale finals and the Lancashire Small Schools’ finals. How amazing is that! 🤩 They were also awarded the sports value award for passion. We wish them luck in the finals on Wednesday. Go smash it team St Peter’s. 🙌🏼 💥
These wonderful KS2 children took part in an athletics festival. They practised their running, jumping and throwing skills in a carousel of activities.
These children were amazing at the Multiskills Panathlon. They worked so hard at developing their skills. They proudly returned to school with a huge medal and said they'd had a brilliant time!
These Year 2 children represented St Peter's wonderfully at the KS1 Athletics Festival. They showed real determination and team work!
A huge well done to our Year 3/4 girls’ football team! Despite the very chilly weather, they worked fantastic as a team, came 3rd overall and won the sports values award for respect!! Well done girls! 🥉⚽️
This group of year 6's had a blast at the year 6/7 boys football transition festival. They demonstrated the sports value of 'passion' and showed some great skill. ⚽️⚽️
These 4 amazing year 4’s enjoyed an afternoon at MFA bowling for a Panathlon challenge. They gave it their all and thoroughly enjoyed this memorable and fun experience. They were extremely proud to bring their medals back to school to show everyone. ⭐️🎳
These Y3 and 4 boys played so well in tonight's football tournament, showing teamwork and determination. They came third in their group overall. Well done boys! 😊⚽️
A Halloween themed Y2/3 fun football festival at TVLA this evening. The children practised dribbling, passing and shooting. They were all stars. 🌟⚽️🌟⚽️
Some of our Year 5/6 girls tried so hard in a football competition. They came third in their group and were awarded the school values award for teamwork!
This incredibly talented young lady had trials for the Rossendale Schools’ District Football Team. She shone throughout the trials and secured her place within the girls team. Well done! We’re very proud of you!

Starting on the skill stations, 6 of our amazing girls practised their dribbling, shooting and passing. They then played 3 matches getting really stuck in even though 2 of the matches were against secondary schools. The main aim was for the girls to have fun and they certainly did that. Smiles all round!

3 teams enjoyed a carousel of activities to practise their fundamental movement skills. The children were amazing and should be very proud of themselves. ⭐️

The RSSP’s colour run was a fantastic event that 23 year 6's took part in this morning. It was all about being active whilst having fun. Our wonderful children completed a run around the fields of Marl Pits stopping at stations to do exercise challenges (like burpees, star jumps, etc) interspersed with quick dashes through powder stations. It was a great excuse to get really messy!! To end the morning, they relaxed with a delicious ice cream or slush before heading back to school.
St Peter’s were playing in the final of the Knockout Cup against Helmshore Primary School this evening. Unfortunately, we lost 2-1 but what a cracking team we have. It was such a close match and our players showed skill, passion, team work, respect and honesty. So proud of each and every one of them. They’re all winners to us! 🤩🤩🤩

St Peter’s had an incredible 3 teams entered into the year 3/4 tri golf competition today. They all played amazingly whilst having lots of fun at the same time.

What a fantastic performance from team St Peter’s at the KS1 gymnastics competition this evening. 🤸♀️🤸🤸🏿♂️
The children were incredible with perfect techniques and outstanding vaults. Very impressive. The only team in Rossendale to have an all boys team as well. 💪💪
Sports Day 2024
🥈🥈🥈2nd place for our incredible year 4/5 athletics team who competed in the Catholic Primary School’s competition at All Saints this morning. 🥈🥈🥈
The whole team showed resilience, passion and team work. Thank you to Gabriella who took some cracking photos (as well as competing) and thank you to Leo’s mum for helping out as well. Finally, thank you to All Saints' Roman Catholic High School for hosting us and ensuring everyone had a brilliant time. 😁

You'd think after 2 days in London these girls would be too tired! They played their socks off finishing 1-1. A very close match with the opposition scoring only in the last few minutes.

Year 2 had a brilliant morning representing St Peter's at the Rossendale Scavenger Hunt!
2nd place in Rossendale was awarded to our superbly talented Year 6 tennis team at the finals this evening. So proud of them! Absolutely amazing representatives of St Peter’s! 🎾

1st place (team A) and 🥈 2nd place (team B ) were awarded to this fabulous bunch at the Y5/6 tennis qualifiers on Monday. What an achievement! 👏👏👏🎾🎾🎾Congratulations to team A who go through to the finals.
A massive congratulations to our unbelievably talented Dan in year 6. He competed in the Cross Country Finals during the holidays and achieved an incredible 11th place out of all the children in East Lancashire. So proud of you Dan! You’re amazing! 🏃♂️ ⭐️ 🏆👑🏅

A fantastic 4-1 win for our Year 5/6 girls football team this evening playing against Constable Lee St Pauls Church of England Primary. Thanks to St Paul’s girls team and Dean for being so welcoming. The girls had a brilliant time. A big thank you to Daisy’s mum for helping to coach the team. ⚽️ 🥅⭐️

The boys did St Peter’s proud! They played amazingly as a team, got stuck in and gave it their all. Our goal keeper was brilliant too. ⚽️

Every child that ran today should be immensely proud of themselves, especially in such tricky and muddy conditions. Each and every one of them were amazing representatives for St Peter’s showing perseverance, self-belief, team work and respect. A special mention to….

Keys Club Bike and Scooter Night
An extremely close 2-1 defeat for our amazing year 5/6 football team V Crawshawbooth Primary School this evening. Our very talented team played incredibly and did St Peter’s proud. A massive thank you to our parents for being so supportive and to Dean (Leighton’s dad) for giving up his time again to coach the team. ⚽️🥅⚽️🥅

A group of year 5 and 6 girls played brilliantly at Rawtenstall Cricket Club this afternoon. Achieved 5th place and also received the School Values award for 'passion!'
Beyond proud of our magical team of 21! They smashed their performance tonight, and although we were not placed, we were awarded one of just 3 "Adjudicator's Favourite" awards...from 24 performances! Amazing Team St Peters 👏.

Our year 4 football team represented St Peter’s in a match against Holy Trinity last night. They played with skill, determination, team work and passion and we are really proud of them all. The boys had a great time! Well done to Holy Trinity who won the match! ⚽️ ⚽️⚽️🤩🤩🤩
Spring Term
Fantastic night at the table tennis competition. Both St Peter’s boys absolutely smashed it with one of our very talented boys achieving 1st place in Rossendale and our other superstar being awarded 2nd place in the qualifiers (and he was so close to 1st place as well). 🏆🏆 So proud of you both! 🏓🏓
2nd place and 4th place were awarded to this incredible duo at the year 6 girls table tennis competition. Well done girls! 🏓🏓🏓👏
These 4 children played amazingly in the badminton finals. Our boys team were awarded the gold medal and are now the number 1 players in the whole of Rossendale. 🥇🥇
Our girls team were awarded 4th place and are two of the top 8 players in the whole of Rossendale. What an incredible achievement from both teams. We’re proud of you all! 🏸🏸🏸
Super talent and plenty of rallies at the Year 6 badminton qualifiers this evening. The girls were a credit to our school and loved every minute! Team A placed 1st 🥇 and team B placed 3rd!🥉Well done girls! 🏸🏸🏸
Our incredible dance squad were awarded 1st place in Rossendale after performing in front of 1500 people at King George’s Hall. They now go forward to represent Rossendale in the Lancashire finals at Backpool Opera House. What an achievement!
This incredible duo have just been awarded 1st place at the y5/6 badminton competition. They played brilliantly and showed great sportsmanship. So proud of them both! 🤩
These 4 children represented St Peter’s at a Boccia Panathlon event. They enjoyed competing against other schools and demonstrated good team spirit. 🌟

Two teams competed in the year 5/6 basketball competition at VLA. They both won 4 out of the 6 games played. One team were awarded 3rd place and the other team were awarded 2nd place in their group games. They all played brilliantly, showing respect and determination! 🏀
Our Y5/6 dodgeball team and 2 reporters had a great time at VLA last night. They showed respect, team work and some incredible dishing skills. Well done team! 🏀 ⭐️

Autumn Term
A wonderful evening at the Year 6/7 athletics transition festival at All Saints High School. The children had lots of fun and worked on beating their personal best in each of the activities. It was lovely to see so many of our ex St Peter’s pupils taking part and helping as sports leaders! 😍

England Women’s manager Sarina Wiegman has wished our year 5/6 girls football team good luck in the final tonight. ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️We had so many boys that wanted to take part in the Y5/6 football skill development festival at Whitworth High School. So, we took them all (2 teams) and they played brilliantly. Super representatives for our school. ⚽️

A lovely evening at the Y5/6/7 girls football festival. Our 2 teams of girls played a round-Robin tournament for the first half and then focused on skills (dribbling,shooting, passing and moving) during the second half.
